The mission of the Bécalos program is to combine the efforts of the different actors in society, generating opportunities for socially disadvantaged young Mexicans who show talent and effort, to develop skills that allow them to achieve a better standard of living, thus contributing to the progress of Mexico.

38,645 scholarships

to promote the efforts of those who transform Mexico.

Bécalos is present in 2,236 municipalities throughout the country, that is, 90 percent nationwide, and $2,703,564,000 pesos have been invested since 2006, with $163,130,950 only from 2022. 19,699 spots on television and special actions support our strategies . More than 6 million people were reached through our digital platforms.

Impact-generating Initiatives:

  • ENGLISH CHALLENGE: 19,040 young people and teachers had the opportunity to learn English in this seventh edition.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS OF EXCELLENCE: 8,386 scholarships granted so that young people in a vulnerable situation with good academic performance do not abandon their studies.
  • FUTURE SKILLS: 4,318 young people had the opportunity to acquire skills that are adapted to their context. We have created programs that allow them to develop those that are best positioned in the job market, such as: programming, virtual reality or data analysis.
  • TEACHER TRAINING: 3,170 teachers trained.
  • BÉCALAS: We boosted the leadership of 2,034 university women through the BeLEAD workshop, which considers different components such as mentoring, plenary sessions, and mobility.
  • B21 CHALLENGE: 1,450 students and professionals learned to develop soft skills such as leadership or assertive communication to achieve their goals.
  • BÉCALOS RISE TALENT: 247 young people obtained a scholarship and Alejandra Montero was one of the winners of the largest scholarship in the world.
